Two stories about life in Saudi Arabia, one about life there and one specifically about Christians in Saudi Arabia tell a story about our government’s attitude toward Christians. As Obamacare tears into Christians’ right to maintain their beliefs or as the NFL talks about banning Atlanta from hosting the Super Bowl because Atlanta wants to let vendors choose not to support activities where they have religious objections.
It becomes clear that being a believer in Christ is no longer a easy choice. No matter were in world you are, believing in Christ has a potential cost, up to and including an ultimate cost. From a earthly standpoint, why would anyone subject themselves to the bigotry against those that actively profess a belief in Christ? The truth of the resurrection and belief in Christ provides an eternal reward. Believers that die live forever.
If Christ did not return from the dead and ascend to the Father, all of us Christians are idiots and our beliefs false. If he did, no price is too great to pay in this world for the hope of Christ.
